Conditions of Acceptance
Orders for insertion of advertisements are accepted subject to the Standard Conditions agreed between the Newspaper Society and the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, save that the publisher does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by: (a) an error, inaccuracy, or omission in the printing of an advertisement; (b) for any failure to publish an advertisement on the date or dates specified by the advertiser; (c) for the publication of an advertisement on the date or dates other than the date specified by the advertiser; whether the actual date of publication be earlier or later than the date or dates specified; and/or (d) in respect of any loss of damage alleged to have arisen through delay in forwarding or omission to forward replies to Box Numbers to the advertisers or their Agents to check their advertiser, however caused. They also reserve the right to classify correctly any advertisements, edit or delete any objectionable wording, or reject any advertisement.
Although every advertisement is checked occasionally mistakes do occur. We therefore ask the advertisers or their Agents to check their advertisements carefully and inform us immediately of any errors.
We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for more than ONE INCORRECT insertion and that no re-publication will be granted in the case of typographical or minor changes which do not affect the value of the advertisement.
All advertisements must be authenticated by the name and address of the sender. Replies to Box Numbers will be posted to advertisers if required. There will be a standard charge of £5 for the use of a Box Number. The Box address must not be used for the receipt of original testimonials, goods, cash, stamps or payments of any kind, nor is it available for the distribution of trade canvassing matter.
The receipt of an order will be deemed an acceptance of these conditions. Copy material not claimed after three months will be destroyed.
